So i must admit that i have been socially neglectful 2 my blog...I started this blog to let ppl follow my journey as well as 2 get information on natural hair care and styles but i've been in such a rut lately about my hair that have neglected to do so. My sisterlocks are 198 months old which translates 2 about a year and 6 months . Due 2 my layoff from my job i was forced 2 become a DIY'er and i think i kinda damaged my hair in the process i feel like it has stop'd growing others beg 2 differ but i personally dnt agree. I have done a LOT of RESEARCH and i know that it can be fix'd wit time patience and care. I love this natural journey that i have embark'd on with my hair it makes me feel free i just think of this as the new me and if i can get a few other things in my life to feel as free as my hair then i will be all set. i will post pics of my hair journey so far later. Well thx 4 reading my blog and i WILL do better in the future about blogging now that i have another phone...speaking of that i posted a blog y-day from my phone through a txt msg and when i checked to c how it came out online it all came in backwards n e body know how 2 fix that prob or wat 2 do?? HELP

Color

So i just recently put color in my hair don't know if that was a good or bad mistake. Right now I'm kinda on the fence about it don't know whether to like it or not. my friends and family love it my my parents on the other hand wants me to go back to my perm hair which i don't think i can do. i have never felt as free with my hair as i do now. i mean it's maintenance but not as much maintenance as i had with the CREAMY CRACK (perm) in my hair. because my hair was so thick i was spending more money every week get'n it done compared to the DIY sisterlocks. now if i can only get the rest of my body to catch up with how free my hair is then we will be in business.

So im trying this new mobile blogging thing and it sent my blog in backwards so im gonna work on that later today. But I have recently been trying to figure out how to......how do I say it.....moisturize my sisterlocks because I want them to shine a little bit. I have really bad dandruff so i've tried everything from sea breeze yo all types of dandruff shampoo to everything if n e one has suggestions plz help!!!!! But my hair recently had its 1st birthday and i was excited about that that i could jump over the moon. my family and friends really dont likr the fact that i have a new found love for my hair that is unexplainable but I let them have their opinions because this is the new me weather they like it or not i will be back later with some updated information on my self and my hair sign'd a frustrated woman :-{

Soooooo I'm new to this whole blogging thing where do i began. I've Had my Sisterlocks since November 21, 2008 and they are still short b/c when i started them my hair was short shaved in the back & short at the top sooo um yea that's where it began. When i thought about getting locks it was just a game 2 me @ 1st until i seriously contemplated them one night when i was hme alone. I txt'd all of my friends and asked them what their opinion was and they all thought i should go 4 it all but 1 agreed. She told me and i quote " I will not walk around with you look'n like a damn fool by the head" but despite her negativity i decided to do them any way. I originally wanted traditional locks but one night i got a visit from a friend who went to high school with me and i told her i was growing my hair for traditional locks and i ask'd her what she was doing to her hair and she told me she had gotten sisterlocks installed in her head like 2 months before i decided to get them. She had given me a card to the person who did her hair and with that i did a little research. I spent all of and hour online looking at this beautiful hair style and that was all i needed to decide on what i really wanted SISTERLOCKS. I loved the fact that i didn't have to cut my hair bald and that i could achieve the style i wanted with permed hair. I also loved the fact that with the locks they are so versatile and i could pretty much style them as i want. So here i am now patiently awaiting for my hair to sprout out of nowhere. In the Beginning my consultant could only do top top portion of my hair b/c the back wasn't yet long enough to start b/c all they would do is slip out and it did only once though and i was so thankful that it was only once. After she had the back part in and they were actually staying i started to feel a lil better because that meant that i no longer had to walk out the house with my silk bonnet on my head which every1 grew 2 hate so much. Now that i look back on all the pictures i can actually tell the significant amount of growth i have :-) now i retighten my own locks b/c going to the shop and having them do them began 2 put a whole in my pocket. i am steadily try'n new things with my hair until it grows so if there are n e suggestions please feel free to give them.
